STATEMENT
My gift for creating comes from God.
My artwork is a celebration of life’s pure passions, filled with rhythm, movement and harmony. I work with acrylic and oils. I draw my inspiration from masters like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Willem de Kooning, and Joan Mitchell. I have painted in numerous countries and various parts of our country. I’ve studied with renowned artists, including Cape Cod master teacher Henry Henche, Portland artist Melinda Thorsness, Mark Bockrath of the Pennsylvania Academy, and the late great southwest artist Louisa McElwain, bless her sweet soul, who helped me expand my technique and energy.
I reside in Blawenburg where I continue to paint and explore artistic frontiers.
BIOGRAPHY
For nearly 40 years Alan Taback balanced his passion for basketball and painting in the greater Trenton and Princeton areas. As the coach of Princeton Day School’s basketball team, he lead them to seven consecutive consecutive state championships; (from 1973 to 1980) and nine in all.
During this time, he visited the studio of artist, Ann Packard, where he created his first painting. Inspired by Packard’s encouragement, Alan eventually retired from coaching to pursue painting full-time.
