STATEMENT
I am Caroline K. Hall. I am an artist. I am a woman. I am a mom and a wife. I am the daughter of teachers and makers. I am an art teacher. I am a friend, a dreamer and a doer. I am a runner and a gardener. I am a painter. I paint with oils, although sometimes the surfaces I paint on aren’t always canvas. I also like to work in mixed media, involving nature in my works. I also bead and create with unique materials. I use found objects that reflect the image I’m reaching for. I’m inspired by the nature I see on my runs, as well as the architecture I see on my road trip adventures and hikes around the world. I love color. I am always experiencing new things with my students in the classroom that I take to the studio as I am always learning.
BIOGRAPHY
Ms. Caroline Hall is an artist, art teacher, Department Chair, and member of Residential Life at The Pennington School. For twenty plus years Caroline has worked, lived and created in many different aspects of the school and as an artist. In the classroom she teaches art to middle school and upper school students. Offering open studio hours after school and in the evenings, Caroline supervises the art making spaces and encourages art making for all! For many years Caroline worked behind the scenes on the plays and musicals working with the students building the sets and sewing the costumes. Caroline loves encouraging her students in class, beyond the stage, and in the dorms to find their inner artist or to at least try and explore their worlds with an artistic lens. Her studio is any space she can find to draw, design, paint and sculpt. When not in the studio, Caroline is in the garden or in the woods being inspired by nature for her artistic creations.

I’m inspired by the nature I see on my runs, as well as the architecture I see on road trip adventures and hikes around the world. I am always experiencing new things with my students in the classroom that I take to the studio.
BIOGRAPHY
Caroline Hall is an artist, art teacher, Department Chair, and member of Residential Life at The Pennington School. For over 20 years, she has contributed to many areas of school life, from the classroom to the dorms. Caroline teaches Middle School and Upper School art classes including AP Studio Art. She offers open studio hours after school and in the evenings, fostering an inclusive space where students are encouraged to explore and create. As an artist, Caroline works in a range of media, drawing, painting, sculpture, and design, and draws inspiration from the natural world, especially her time in the garden and running in the woods. In addition to her art work, she has long supported Pennington’s theater productions by building sets and sewing costumes, and she co-teaches a Middle School technical theatre class. In Residential Life, she has lived in all three dorms, previously serving as a dorm head and Assistant Director. She currently lives in Becher Hall with her husband and son, enjoying her role as a hall parent. Whether in the art studio, classroom, or dorm, Caroline encourages students to discover their creative voice and view the world through an artistic lens, as she does herself.
